Default SEO Keyword question

Hello everyone I'm having a tough time figuring this out perhaps you guys can help me out.

Let's say that I did a keyword research and found that it is easy to rank
kw: hotels houston texas - 1,600.

However, if I were to write an on-page SEO site then it wouldn't make sense to put the keyword "hotels houston texas" into a sentence; well for me at least. I figured it would make more sense if I wrote "hotels in houston texas."

Therefore, can I just use the keyword for my on-page as "hotels in houston texas," and create backlinks with anchor text of "hotels houston texas?"

Or do I NEED to make sure that exact keyword is on my page? It just seems awkward to write an article without some type of variation for the desired keyword. Hopefully that makes sense.

I mean chances are I'll be ranking both keywords anyways with hotels houston texas and hotels in houston texas (not ranking these words just an example by the way) (?)

Thanks everyone.

Google can identify that both of the terms are related to the same topic and therefore even if you link with the word "in", it will understand what it is referring to.

In addition, i think it would be better if you vary your linking profile for better SEO and better long-tail rankings.

Deepakamishra696, I did keyword research on google. I believe Omrishabbat already answered my question thanks for that.

I was laying out an example; of course I wouldn't give out my real keywords out there.

Your both keyword are same in the eyes of google, when you use hotels in houstan texas then it should be counted as hotels housten texas because google ignore the Stop words from content and title's to save space. So don't worry and target what you want?
