Default quick question on Dofollow link from a directory

So am watching very closely thorough my webmasters account the actions and reactions i do while building links for my site...i bought a link on a pr4 .org directory's home page ..a month ago.. so now i appear to have 30000 back-links from that directory..can anyone explain to me how that many back links can occur from a single paid link ?

Other links i build bring back the exact number of back-links if they even get indexd ...

Hi,

It could be that the link has been added to several pages on the same site, such would be the case if there were a common header, footer, sidebar, etc...

mgreener is right. There's probably a common sidebar, footer, header, etc, that has your link and is shown throughout most of the site.

This is pretty common with some Wordpress blogs.

I wouldn't really worry about it. I'd assume that Google & other search engines are smart enough to realize what the situation is.

In this situation do the links count ? as 30000 different links as they are shown up in webmaster tools or they are considered duplicated links and only 1 counts ?
