I've been using rank tracker to check where I rank on the first page of google for various keywords. I double checked in SEO Centro which says my ranks are completely different for the same keywords in the same search engines I am #10 on one and #4 in the other - for the same search term in google. Am I using the right programs? is one wrong? How do I tell where I actually am the page? Also related - is there any way to see what is actually on the first page of google for a search? (all top 10 results) the program I used to use stopped working for some reason. |

I just stick with good old Scroogle Scraper Programs do give different results for some reason, however the one called "free monitor for Google" has been very accurate for me. |

I use Google. I type in my keyword, hit enter and look at the page. If my website isn't somewhere on the page that pops up. It's back to work. If it is, it's back to work on the next site.

could be geotargetting of the program, as in maybe your in uk? 1 program uses your location maybe the other uses a usa ip and is checking google.com? not too sure tbh but i have had this problem before.

Depends on the location of the search. Some tools will report different results than manually checking via your browser depending on where they're pulling the data from. The most accurate, IMO, way to check is via a Chrome "Incognito" window. |

Better check it manually and also use rank tracker twice. I used it and then try again and it gave me different results. The second try is the right one.

When checking your page rank, make sure to use this URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=your...&pws=0&start=0 (hl=en) Language: English (gl=US) Geo Target: USA (pws=0) Disable Google Personalized Search Hope this help. Thanks! |

Sharkey - Have you tried using Microsite Masters? It's the most accurate SERP tracker I've ever used.

You get conflicting results because rank checking tools have different different algorithms & none can match the search engines raking algorithm. For accurate result better to check rankings manually.

A lot of the tracking depends on the location, and the data server it connects to. Personally i recommend SeScout or Microsite Masters they both seem pretty decent and worth using! So use any of them, and you should have a very good indication of where you rank.
