Default How Can My Total CTR Be So High?

I have all of my adsense campaigns assigned to different custom channels so I can see how different portions of my sites are performing (I optimize larger sites for multiple related keywords). So I was wondering...why is it that my Adsense total CTR is significantly higher than my individual campaigns? I'll show you what I mean...

Now look at the channel CTRs...

If none of the channels are coming in at a 4% CTR, then how can the average CTR for the entire account be nearly 5%?

Hmmmmm.... the total data of all of your individual channels doesn't match any of your overall AdSense data.

For example, if you total all the channels, they have more Estimated Earnings, more clicks, and more page views.

Sorry, that doesn't really answer your question, but that is pretty weird.

The math is correct on the random individual days I checked (I didn't check them all).

Quote:
(599 clicks) x 100 (%) = 59900

59,900 / (12,352 views) = 4.849% CTR
Do you have anything outside of those channels that earn with Adsense?
  • Google Custom Search/Adsense
  • Youtube/Adsense
  • Feedburner/Adsense
  • etc...

It seems weird to me too. You gotta disregard the earnings info though and just focus on the CTR. Some of my Ad Groups have two Custom Channels assigned to them. One overview for the keyword and one for that individual channel.

The idea is that I have a main page about Diabetes that I promote. On it I might rotate a 300x250 banner with a 120x600 to see which performs better.

So in the 300x250 group, I assigned the channels "Diabetes" and "Diabetes 300x250"

In the 120x600 group I assign the channels "Diabetes" and "Diabetes 120x600"

That way, when I pull reports by channel, I can quickly look and see how the Diabetes ads are doing when combined together and can also look at how they are working on an individual basis. This, of course, means that the earnings would be skewed because you're double counting the channels on the sites set up this way.

That's why you just pay attention to the CTR for this. I'm trying to figure out why none of channels (combined or not) have a CTR of 4% or more but the total for the month is almost 5%.

The only ads on this site are Adsense and a Ebay. Obviously, the Ebay earnings are reported separately on EPN.
