I am creating a site which will feature an extremely useful content section on a particular niche. I would like the user to enter his/her email address in order to see the content, however, since this content will be so extensive, it would also be very useful for SEO. Is there a way that I could allow search engines to see the content, but not users (until they enter their email addresses), or is that black-hat? Thanks! |

Hi, There is a way to do this, but it also involves allowing the visitor to see the content that they click to without having to register. If they were to want to continue browsing, then they could be required to register first. It's called First Click Free and here's Google's info on it: Official Google Webmaster Central Blog: First Click Free for Web Search |

Oh cool, so if I break my content across different pages then no matter which page the user lands on, when they try to go to a different section/page I can block them for subscription?
