SEO Spyglass: No Anchor Text?

Hello, everyone.

I've been using SEO Spyglass lately and have found that many sites, when I pull up the backlinks, click on "analyze," and then on "anchor text," there are usually a large amount of links that display no anchor text. Also, when I look at the links, it shows "No links back." So, are these just links that have disappeared, or am I reading something wrong?

I use SEO Spyglass 4.7.3 , After i have backlinks, i chose "update backlinks" , then chose "analyze Backlinks" . You see Anchor text or Anchor url ?

When I click on "analyze backlinks" and then click to sort them by anchor text, there are a large amount of links that show "no anchor text." What I'm wondering is if this means that these backlinks no longer exist, or something else?

They are links that are still recorded in that particular backlink checker (Blekko, Google, etc), but SpyGlass found that they no longer exist. That means the next time the spider from that backlink index visits the site, it will find the same thing and no longer count the link.

Thanks a lot. That makes a lot of sense. Now, when I go in and see no anchor text, that probably means that the back links either don't exist anymore or that it is an image link or something. That makes a lot of sense now.
