Default How to check inbound links

Happy xmas!

How do you do to check all sites that have linked to one's website? I remember having seen somewhere that you can type some kind of syntax into google that will show all sites that have linked to yours.

Unfortunately there is no perfect way to find all of the links which point to a particular website as many of the tools which are offered publicly as well as privately do not have the capabilities to capture every link.

For example Google converts PDF documents to HTML and interprets the links which are within the documents. They do this to be able to count the links within the documents to evaluate the sites rank. Although they convert and count the links within the document towards your page rank they do not necessarily get indexed as back links in the same way many of the links are.

So the best way to find the back links to your site is by setting up analytics in evaluating where your traffic is coming. Those are the links that you should be focusing on. It is never good to focus on the number of back links which you were receiving anyways it is more important to find out which sources of traffic are sending you the most quality leads and affecting your search engine rank.
