Can someone tell me if google is currently updating its algorithm as some of my search engine ranking positions have wildly decreased?

Might be your Rankings have been decreased !! If your website is having a nice rank then it doesnt means that it is fixed there for LIFE ! You need to keep working to maintain it at that place... Check your backlinks and all and see if everything is like before or not Regards ~Sam~ |

I actually spoke to Google today and they said "Hey Luke, we're having an update today, make sure to let everyone know". If you want your rankings back, just email them at IWantMyRankingsBack@Google.com If they still don't reply, send a carrier pigeon to them requesting the #1 spot. You will certainly get it. |

i think something did happen at google last night because in market samurai i have quite alot of BL decreases. but this happens probably monthly. typical occurance.

Google always updates its algorithm to give its users better online searching experience. If you do maintenance, your ranks would be there, have you stopped working on SEO? Or may be there are new competitors enter your market and capture top positions on Google for your keyword. Better thing to over come this is, keep on working on SEO. You will be able to get your ranks back. OR Have you done any changes to your site recently? That too may give a change in your rank,
