Default Need help with finding a keyword

In the truck driving niche. Im still a newbie 8 months now, and have not earned a dime with my blog but learned a lot. I will be getting my blog Seo optimized soon and need a keyword. Every keyword i've tried has failed to help me rank on google. When i use google adwords tool every keyword for trucking says it's difficult with tons of competition. Any keyword in this niche will fit my site. Any help much appreciated thanks warriors.

You want us to do keyword research on your behalf?

Maybe it is the way you are doing keyword research. Or maybe it is your search engine optimization efforts.

Consider ranking for long tail keywords with small amounts of traffic. If it is too hard to target two word and three word keywords in your niche, go long tail, build posts, send backlinks to your posts, and optimize your website's homepage and blog posts for the search engines (make sure you inter-link your blog posts).

With time, if you do it right, you will notice your website will rank for long tail keywords pretty easily. At that point, you can start targeting harder keywords. You will be able to dominate competitive keywords much easier. Work your way from the bottom to the top.

How to be a truck driver. Then how to make the most money possible driving a truck. Also just discuss trucking issues, and the life.

I think you misunderstand it.The competition bar on google keywords tool is just for PPC.

Firstly, don't confuse the competition rating in Google Adwords Keyword Tool. That is the adwords competition and not how difficult to rank for the keyword.

Now, when you say you've already tried ranking a few keywords, what have you actually tried?

There's no point in flitting from one keyword to another without putting some effort into it.

i don't know what keywords you've tried, but I did a quick check using SECockpit and here's a few to try with good search volume and relatively low competition:

delivery driver jobs
van driver jobs

Traffic doesn't come until you get to top 3. Go to the site in my signature and learn how to find keywords for 100% free. I don't usually pimp my sig, but it seems like you need some help here.

Problem with that keyword is that it only gets 210 monthly searches, so even if you were #1 for that keyword, you would get a tiny amount of traffic from people searching that term.

Started all over again and do your ground work properly, you will never fail but if you do the contrary, you are going to stand a little chance of surviving the game.

How do you know your #8 for that keyword phrase? Google will use your browser history for the SERPs, check that same search phrase in Chrome Incognito & don't login to anything.

Also, just because you rank #1 & very low traffic, doesn't mean that traffic doesn't exist for that keyword/phrase or sub-niche.

I know this is the SEO forum but as an IMer you have to diversify & target multiple traffic sources. Example, a killer new ebook for "How to be a truck driver" might work well on trucking forums.

Just saying that Google is far from being the only source of free traffic.

First of all, you can rank any website to the #1 of any keyword. This is the fact. If you want to make a dog training website and rank it #1 for "dog training", you can do that. It will take you around 73 years to do it, but it's possible.

So it doesn't really matter what the competition is, what matters is what you've got. What kind of techniques do you have available? How comitted are you?
