I am using / I used NameCheap (My personal favorite) Name.com (My favorite next to NameChap) Godaddy (Moved many off after SOPA, they are good for their almost monthly $1 domains) 1and1 (Used them long ago and not anymore) internet.bs (Haven't used yet but people in IM are talking about it, new company) What are your thoughts? |

Most of my domains are at GD and NameCheap, but will have to consider moving some, with this whole SOPA thing and all - maybe to gandi.net?

I am a big fan of Namecheap, and even more so now that they came out against SOPA. I also like internet.bs.

Namecheap. Still have a few stragglers over @ GoDaddy and will be transferring them out soon.

Namecheap.com is my top pick. I have some domains registered at Godaddy, but I'll be moving all of them this week since they support SOPA!

Ask yourself this. Can I pick up the telephone and call NameCheap if I have a problem? Answer: NO Can I pick up the telephone and call GoDaddy at 3am on Sunday morning: Answer: Yes Does GoDaddy have a physical Street Address: Answer: Yes Does NameCheap have a physical Street Address: Answer: Sort of. If you consider a mail box drop a street address. They actually have the EXACT same street address as anyone else who wants to use this address: Regus - California, West Los Angeles - Executive Tower Is GoDaddy a Registrar? Answer: Yes Is NameCheap a Registrar? Answer: Sort of... they are a reseller for eNom GoDaddy also makes it very easy to do things like Domain Forwarding and Masking. NameCheap has a sort of work around for this. GoDaddy makes it simple to do 301 302 redirects. NameCheap... well kind of. Why does NameCheap hide from customers? Why don't they offer phone support. Who offers more real value for the money and peace of mind. Answer: It's not NameCheap People like to bash GoDaddy... why? Because they have commercials, they go on Safari? What do you know about Richard Kirkendall the owner of NameCheap? Not much because he hides. NameCheap's marketing requires a constant attack on GoDaddy. GoDaddy built a business by offering products people want. NameCheap has built it's seedy business by bashing GoDaddy and selling to the inept who are easily motivated by emotions and not logic. |
