Newbi question: What is link juice?

Just as the title says... I have seen the term juicy links and link juice a few times and have no idea what it means...

According to my knowledge link juice ,is getting lots of good backlinks to Your url,for good seo placement.I have seen this frase on Fiverr several times .Seo webmasters are offering backlinks gigs to get a "nice link juice"

Link juice is the assumed "power" of a link/links. "This link will pass a lot of juice" aka "this link is powerful, it should help my site/page".

The Alexa value.... that is a strange story... seems to be a flaw in the program.

Google has the best information for that question. But to give you an idea, link juice is a word substituted to an imaginary value of a particular link.

Alexa 10M means your website is performing bad. Alexa measures the visitors' traffic and assigns a value to your website. Very high traffic websites have a low alexa rank value while low traffic websites have an higher alexa rank.
If you have 10M, your site will probably have less then 10-20 unique visitors per day. This is bad, I think.
To increase visitors you have to promote your website.

Not a single good answer in this thread. Link juice primarily refers to Pagerank and then anchor text. No one outside of Google knows conclusively about any other kind of ranking factor that is passed on through the link but those two.

Has nothing to do with the site being cool and every seller refers to link juice whether or not what they are offering really has much "juice".

Annoying IM term used when talking about how much value a link passes.

E.G.

"Get Some Serious Link Juice To Send You To PAGE 1!!!"

There are all kinds of CrackPot ideas out there.

One of my Favorites is when the IM IM'rs will say something like.

You get a WEB 2.0 article and then 400 Profile links to TURBO CHARGE THAT ARTICLE WITH SOME SERIOUS LINK JUICE.

Indeed! I was reading through thinking what the heck, is there one good answer! And then it came quoted above.

One thing you can rest assured of is that the link juice from a link on a site that is the same topic as yours carries more weight than a link from an unrelated site.

If you have a websites on Automobiles.

Would you prefer a pr4 Anchor link from another Automobile site?

Or a pr5 link from a website on home loans?

Link juice is the PageRank that is passed when you link from one site to another. Some people say PageRank, "to pass PageRank", others use the work link juice, but it's essentially the same.
