Page views tripled, CTR dropped to 0%... any ideas?!

Ladies and Gents, your views and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I've so far created two sites monitized with AdSense. I created the first in October and through November I saw a steady 10% CTR. This spurred me on to create a second site in November. Now both sites (micro niche sites) have picked up in the traffic department but my CTR has literally disappeared! I recieved 9 clicks in the first few days of December but since then I literally haven't had a single click?

I left the sites for a few weeks to see if anything changed but it hasn't, so yesterday I did an overhaul on both sites (content and design). Obviously time will tell if the new design helps, but if anyone has ideas as to why my CTR has disappeared then I'll love to hear it!

In the meantime I'm working on a third site which is much more robust than the other two.
