Default SEO Experts - would a fiverr dig such as this be unwise for a young site?

Hi.

I have a site which has been active for only two weeks. During that time I have optimized on page SEO (using all in one seo plugin). I have submitted some articles, directory listings and some social bookmarking and created around 15 posts / pages of unique content.

I am now considering the following gig to give my site a boost in serp, but I am concerned that it may flag up to google as the site is still quite young?

Quote:
I will build eminent backlink pyramid with 5000 high pr profiles, links are all from different domains and 90 percent are dofollow for $5

I highly advise AGAINST using this kind of gig and similar gigs at ALL, let alone on a new page. I would use this sort of links to boost BACKLINKS or supportive blogs/videos.

I would never use it for my money page or blog.

Just my thoughts...

Sincerely, Buyseech

I also would not use a gig like that on my money page. Remember that whatever sort of backlinking campaign you are going to run on your site, especially a new site, needs to remain consistent. For example, if you send 20 profile links one week, than the following week you better follow up with another 20 links of something else. Google picks up on trends and if you just blast 5,000 backlinks one week and the next week you aren't blasting any, your rankings will suffer.

Why would this be? Why, exactly, would Google expect your website to get the same number of links week in and week out?

They don't expect this but they detect unnatural behavior. For example 5000 butt cheap forum profiles in one week, then 0 links the next will raise some flags especially on new sites.

Yeah exactly, it makes your site look suspicious. They watch for this stuff like a hawk and it will definitely hurt your rankings.

I send 3000 Bookmarks + 4000 wiki's to brand new sites all the time before I use blog networks and permanent HPBL's. Works wonders.

I think link velocity for the most part is bs. What WILL get you is those forum profiles being deleted over time and your rankings will degrade. Personally I think somewhere in the algo, theres something in there about profile links which is why I rarely see good results.

Forum profiles are the worst thing you can do to your website, new or old.

Thanks for the advice guys, it did not feel right so that's why I checked it out.

Seems the best policy then is to keep putting up content and manually getting links by posting on blog comments and social book marking, i.e. hard work!
