Are low searches, high CPC KW worth targeting?

I found some keywords with low searches for exact term that have high cpc.

Searches like 500 and CPC $7 also they have adwords competition so there are advertisers bidding on them.

Will these be worth targeting for AdSense? Not as main KW, but for other pages on the website.

This is an interesting question to me as well. My brother has a well established company in a micro niche that involves government contracting. I've been thinking about developing a focused website for him to scoop the small amount of KW searches in his area. There can't be many competitors in this niche, all the KW's I've looked at have around 100 local searches monthly.

I have a newer site in the $4 CPC range and it turned 223 page views into $20 this month. I would say go for it but I am still kind of small time so your mileage may vary.

if exact is 500 local and if you could arrange 5-6 such keywords then you can make quite a good amount of money. Try ranking for such keywords and get on top3 positions atleast

Where did you get this CPC number?
in the Google Adwords "contextual" tool?
if not
the CPC is not accurate

highest CPC I ever see is about 5 or 6 dollars those are hard to find

Normally I see about $3 or $4

$7 in the contextual tool is rare

Hey,

Think about it like this, you are obviously not very certain on doing this, however it could make you profit, although be it very little. I think you shouldn't look so much to the profit (btw who knows could be decent extra cash) rather do it because you are out of your comfort zone. The more actions you take like this the more you get used to making these types of decisions, the more you grow. So I would do it just for that reason and if you make money then the deal is even sweeter.

I have found searches in the 5000,10,000, 15,000 range
with ZILCH no competition
with $3.50 -$4 CPC (real CPC)

I would prefer to target kws that if I rate number one I will get decent traffic

500 searches a month? would not be enough

Just keep the following match in mind.

500 exact searches - Google gets 30% for the ads in the search results...

So you're down 350 now.

Let's assume you rank #1, and that you get 50% of that traffic...

So now you have 175 people per month coming to your site, or about 5.2/day.

Now let's say you can get a 10% CTR, so you'll get about 17 clicks.

You can figure out if its worth it from there.

If this is your main IM income I would say go for it. Having 20 websites like it can bring a lot of nice extra cash monthly.
