Youtube Video SEO Question?

Hey everybody,

When trying to get a video ranked higher on youtube getting more views etc how do you SEO it? Do you build backlinks to it? what kind of links do you guys build?

The basic SEO for videos is to have your keyword inside your title (preferably on the beginning) write a description with 50-100 words and use 2-3 times your keywords, and write variations of your keyword on the video tags.

A simple trick that you can use to get more views and additionally rank better on youtube search results (and as a result better google rankings as well) is to search for popular videos that are relevant to your video and create a video responce with your own video (you can find this next to comments of every video on Youtube)

One trick I learned is for every website you have, get a yuotube channel for that site. then have the main video be your keyword you're going after. in the description box, the first thing you want in there is a link to your capture page followed by a space. Then write a description with the keyword sprinkled in there at a rate of 1-2% Then every other video you do, link back to the main video url in the description box.

Do a youtube search with your keyword and look at the first couple of results and make sure you utilize all their tags, plus a few extras that you can come up with.

exactly as someone said make sure your keyword is in title (the sooner the better). write proper tags and description. For backlinks i use a round of submission of same video on different video portals with re-written titles and tags and then link to youtube video. also few bookmarks help (make sure the category is video). sometimes views help too. Your new video with 300 views cannot beat a video with 300,000 so make sure to get few views.

This is a good tip. Already high ranking videos are a great source. Adding videos with keywords (and content) that are in the news and people are searching for can help as well.

If you want to get more views for your video then place its link in various kind of your content as in blog and article but be sure for the relevancy as it is the thing that drive person to see your video. Include links in profile pages wherever possible.
Include appropriate keywords in the name of the video
For each video, write a unique, keyword-rich description that includes a URL.

That's pretty much how I do it, minus the email & account name.

I've found that if your keyword already has one or more videos ranking in Google that it's pretty easy to do the same yourself. Even outrank them if your "SEO" is better. (Keyword in the filename, title, description, and tags.)

After that it's just a matter of sending backlinks as you would with any other site.
