Forgive me but this is my first post here. I've lurked forever and just signed up tonight. I've been researching a way to make some money with an adsense dedicated site. I have somewhere around 30 old domains just parked on google domain parking for adsense, and they're making nothing. What I am thinking is this. A couple years ago I accidentally bought windowcompanys.com without realizing there should have been an ies at the end of windowcompan instead of ys. So yes it's definitely miss spelled. I was wondering if I could build a site and still make good money with adwords with this miss spelled name? I did a google search for "window companies" and it's showing 427,000,000 returns. "window companys" shows 22,000,000 and it shocks me how many window companies have the term companies spelled "company's". This morning a different major seo site had a blurb about exact domains having even more power in 2012. Of course I know that this is the internet and you can read something somewhere and then an hour later read the exact opposite somewhere else. Like I said at the start of my post I don't know if I have anything here or not.. Can you guys give me some advice. I've read myself blue in the face and used the search this forum tool here, but have come up with very little. |

Not really. Since google started auto-correcting misspelled words, going for the misspelling isn't as lucrative as it used to be.

Give it a try, I see no reason if the competition is poorly optimized for the keyword "window companies" that you shouldn't be able to rank for it with your url you have at the moment using articles targeting the correct and incorrect spelling.

I was curious about the whole thing. It didn't even occur to me till after a few months from the purchase that I had a miss spelled name HA! I had held onto it in hopes of doing something with it some day. Just like always, a day late and a dollar short. LOL |

I have ranked missed spelled domains in a past but however I have noticed that it is the same as ranking any non EMD domains

There's a few factors going against you. Firstly, if you use Google Adwords Keyword Tool to check the exact search figures for those terms, you see window companies - 2400 Global Monthly Searches window companys - 110 Global Monthly Searches So if you were to optimize your site around 'window companys', there's hardly anyone searching for that term. Additionally, when you search for window companys Google will auto-correct the spelling and give you the results for window companies That said, you could still build a site that's optimized for the keyword 'window companies', although it might look a little strange if your domain name uses a different spelling. As for the power of exact match domains, most people consider that their SEO impact has diminished. I personally think people spend way too much time looking for the perfect EMD, when they would be better off just getting a domain name that is near enough and actually start building the site. |

Still looking for the thanks button. I see it there in your graphic but it's not here on my screen. Do you have to have a certain amount of posts before you can thank someone? I only have the QUOTE MULTIQUOTE and QUICK REPLY buttons here. |

I got sued for not turning one to the company, I ended up settling, but it was a violation of some trademark thing or domain squatting can't remember details.
