Hi Friend, Your Alexa ranking can give you a semi-accurate picture of how popular your site is. Typically, if you are not ranked in Alexa, it is because your site is getting very little traffic. So it should not be your primary tool to view your traffic or rankings, but it can give you a measuring stick to compare your popularity to your competitors. |

Alexa is a very rough estimate of traffic levels. It can easily be manipulated by just a few users with the Alexa toolbar. SEMrush and other tools give a more accurate picture.

As others have said, Alexa rank is a measure of the traffic your site is getting. If you want to lower your alexa rank, you need to gain more traffic to your site. However, Alexa rank does not affect google ranking.

| This ^^^^ (I'm sorry to say ) is correct. All it can purport to estimate (and even this none too accurately, I hear) is the number of users of the Alexa Toolbar who visit a site. Most of them are internet marketers. Nothing about customers at all (unless your site's limited to internet marketers who happen to have the toolbar installed, I suppose). I can just about it seeing it being tangentially relevant to people who are either selling such a site or selling advertising space on one, wanting to have some sort of metric to be able to show to potentially interested buyers some of whom might "believe in it" ... but for anything else at all: forget it. |

I wouldn't waste your time worrying about alexa, the ranking is irrelevant. just concenrate on your rankings and building traffic.

Sorry, Alexa is not useless, but it isn't the 'be-all' traffic estimator either. When I am looking at how my sites compare to the competition it is very useful. While it can be inflated and is only a small sampling, it is still a metric to watch and take into consideration. Too bad google doesn't repackage the analytics data it collects into an analysis tool, although I suppose admins may not want their real data put out for true comparisons by their competitors. |

As per my opinion Google PR has more value in market than Alexa Rank.

I'm not using Alexa, I think it is useless. Maybe for top 1000 website you can get good measurement, but for small websites data is not good.
