Default Lessons Learned in 2011 Working With Adsense & 2012 Goals For Adsense

I've been wanting to write this thread for awhile now, but I've just been real busy .

The point of this thread is to share my mistakes and lessons so that new comers can get a good start working with Adsense. Also it's meant to give some motivation.

LESSON #1:
"Pick The RIGHT Keywords To Target"

It doesn't matter what niche you're going after or if you're trying to build a niche site or an authority site. If you don't do proper keyword research you can be stuck doing months of hard work all for nothing.

I've learned this the hard way, I wasted so much time creating website after website that gets ranked but gets ZERO profits.

Or, I create websites that don't rank at all because I didn't know that it was way too competitive.

LESSON #2:
"Focus on Just ONE Site When Starting Off"

When working with Adsense, or any other form of income stream, make sure you focus on the task at hand.

Stop jumping from one thing to another.

For me I use to create an Adsense website and then jump to a ClickBank website. I didn't take the time to fully watch my Adsense sites grow. They are like raising a child.

If you don't give them enough attention they have a higher chance of not succeeding. As you get more experience and you start getting what is working you can then start to work on multiple sites at the same time.

*I usually build my sites to have 20 or more pages.

LESSON #3:
"There IS a Magic Bullet"

Yup, it's called doing work!

There isn't any product out there that will help you make $10,000 in Adsense revenue over night.

You just have to get that out of you head now if you want to succeed.

I use to think just because I read an ebook I will just have to sit around and watch the money come in. I was obviously wrong.

The money started coming in after I started actually working on quality sites.

LESSON #4: "You DON'T Need a 'Special' Adsense Theme"

I'm sure they work fine but personally I haven't bought a "High CTR Theme".

I use two column themes and some one column themes and just align the Adsense box to left and add a box on the bottom and I still get 9% to even 15% ctr. They look way nicer than those made for Adsense themes.

*Don't forget to add your privcy polices, about, contact, etc. to your site.

LESSON #5: "WHEN a Site Fails, So What?"

I say "when" and not "if" because not all your sites are going to be winners you are bound to make a few duds that don't make you money. When you come across this problem then say, "So what" then move on.

Don't linger on the failures, learn from them and move onto creating an even better site.

LESSON #6: "Outsourcing is Your FRIEND"

I hate creating content and I also hate building backlinks. Once you start making money from your sites and you plan of building more sites, consider outsourcing some steps.

It will help you save time and will allow you to build DOZENS of sites at once.

*I usually just outsource my backlinking here on the WF. I get .gov and .edu links
-------------

Those are the key lessons I've learned if I remember more I will add them later.

So what are the outcomes of following those lessons?

For me I have been able to build a handful of successful sites that are paying off my car payments. I know it isn't a lot compared to many members here, but to me it's still a success !

My goal for 2012 is to start creating authority sites. Also to finally quit my day job!

I hope this helps people succeed in Adsense. Good Luck!

Thanks for this man.

I'm just recently getting into AdSense. I have a site made already but I think I'm gonna have to trash it and start over. I can't get the hang of keyword research, everything else seems fine. Do you have any tips for me on Keyword Research or anything like that? (Feel free to PM me about this)

Congrats on your success. AdSense is new to me, I moved on from affiliate marketing and product creation because I'm not looking to make $50,000/week by working my but off all day every day. I'm looking for a passive income that I'm able to live off of and have a lot of free time. I figured AdSense is the only thing that truly gives you passive income without any extra work after it gets ranking, you don't have to deal with customer emails, making sure cpa offers don't expire, pumping out another ebook, once it's done, it's done. That's what I like about it.

Also, if you wouldn't mind letting us know, how much are you making with AdSense on average?

P.s. Nice ride man

Thanks man yeah that's my baby ! Subaru WRX.

For keyword research I actually learned the correct way, IMO of finding keywords without Market Samurai and other software through free methods.

I was fortunate enough to recieve a review copy of a fellow Warrior named Vic, whose product is called "Smart Keyword Research" after watching all the videos of his I started finding real profitable keywords.

As for my earnings with Adsense it's around $50 - $60 per month per site. That's with 10 successful sites out of like 60 dud sites.

I use the free themes that you can search for on Wordpress. I don't add any logos and even pictures because I don't want the visitor to be distracted by anything. I want their eyes to make their way to the Adsense ad box.

I make the site looking as professional as possible.

The only element I do modify are the color of the links. I make it so that they blend with the Adsense links.

For my Adsense set up I add a large square, left aligned in the first paragraph. I add a wide skyscraper to the left, and finally a large square at the bottom.
