Hey guys, just starting out with AdSense and IM in general. Got into this 1 month ago and created this site. I know now, that recipe sites suck at monetizing but nevertheless I want to increase my CTR, which is ATM at 1%. It's a german site =) (I'm not allowed to post links yet? wtf Just send me a message! Id be so pleased if someone could look over it I'm willing to learn! Cheers |

I have had a lot of success with placing a picture ad, at the end of the post before the comment section. I find that people are done and ready to click on something anyway, then they see a relevant ad and think, "Why Not" I was leaving anyway. I will say test everything because it makes a difference. We can only give you advice, but the particulars of every blog is different. The ad that I put at the end, was centered at first. Then I put it off to the right, by accident and almost got no clicks. I put it to the left and Jackpot, a .2 % click thru rate. For me that was high. There is no way that anyone could have known that. Ad placement is free to try so keep trying until it works. -Capp |

Right after the ingredients, add a big block justified to the left and not wrapped. Change the colors as well to the default colors to make them stand out as well. Also add a big block to the bottom after everything. That should help a bit but I don't think a recipe site would do well with adsense.

Recipe sites don't suck but you have an uphill battle against bigger sites...I have a recipe site that is 5 years old and brings in decent money every month. But I also have over 3000 recipes.

Hi, For me placing 4-5 ad placements worked. But I am also looking for other ad networks also which can pay fixed on monthly basis like BSA. |
