Default Will i get penalized by search engines? insights needed

I published my new website and started sharing my website link to all my friends through Facebook and Twitter stating that i have launched my new website take a look, feedback appreciated.

My question is will search engines consider it as spamming because i'm sending my website link to all my friends at an instance? will i get penalized for doing so? is it the correct way of doing?

Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated

This is not so big trouble if you haven't register adsense. But don't do this kinds of activity as far as possible. In this field it is good to avoid risk as far as possible.

If Google penalizes every site owner that does what you're doing, I guess we'd all be blacklisted by now. Don't worry, so long as you are not asking your friends to click on the ads (if you have them up), you're safe.

It's okay. That is a part of a social media strategy.

The links on twitter are nofollow, and the links on facebook, comments
and sharing, are done by something other than normal text.
The links are not even seen by the general public, let alone google,
unless you put them on a fan page, company, cause, etc.

That's what social is for. To spam...err....share stuff.
You want your links to go viral. That's what you are shooting
for. Not for links on facebook and twitter, which by themselves
do little, but you want people to take that link and send
it all over the place. Real places for real links.

The sheer number of tweets and facebook likes does nothing.
The key is to get the right people to share them. It matters
who is sharing, not numbers.

People are paranoid about big G. Google accepts you want to promote your site, that's how the web works!

I know Social Networking sites are for sharing, since i have to play by big G's rules i was fearing a backlash. Instead of sharing links, i think i should create fan page or business page and then promote those pages. Anyway thanks for all your response and suggestions.

Why should you get penalized for sharing your site with your friends? Please, don't be so scared of Google, Google is your friend, not your enemy.

The fact is, link building in general can't do much harm to your site. What can do harm is what you include on your site, on-page wise.

So, out-bound links to spammy sites can hurt your site, no doubt about that. But don't be so afraid of getting penalized just for sharing your site with your friends.
