Why My Forum Page rank Is 2

My forum PR is 2. But when i am searching for backlinks with the help of free backlink checker tools, it shows that no backlink found. Why? I tried five to six free backlink tools. Still same result. Why?

Many backlinks tools pull data from Yahoo siteexplorer, which shutdown late last year. It's is likely those tools pull data from a service that is no longer operational. Tools that pull data from other sources will never show all of your backlinks and none of them have crawlers that cover the web as thoroughly as the Slurp bot had done.

Currently, there is no thorough backlink database that is publicly accessible.

Pagerank not only depend on the backlinks but there are many other factors which affect pagerank positively or negatively. As high conversion rate & low bounce rate, Increase in inbound links & less outbound links, and most crucial quality content. And without any backlink you have get 2pr so it is good.
And try to check your backlinks manually as writing site:yoursitename in search box and then see the results. OR you can use google analytics tool also. It is free tool and it will provide you results that of the backlinks to your site and also show that which backlink helps you most to get more benefit for your site.

I disagree with your assertion, PageRank is based totally on backlinks. The PageRank algorithm is a publicly disclosed formula published by Google founders Brin & Page, in the original backrub whitepaper.

Also, your advice on using the site: operator to view backlinks misses the mark.
