Hi i am somewhat of an seo newbie and i have a question about repeating keywords in the title tags. Specifically my title tag is "sell pdf files | selling pdfs" is it better to repeat these two words if i make one of the words plural (pdfs) and add ing to the other word (selling)? Or should i just make the title tag "sell pdf files" and not repeat the keywords? what's a better strategy, any advice would be really appreciated thanks |

No, its keyword stuffing in my opinion. The only place they can be duplicated is in the body of your website really.

No, thats obviously keyword stuffing. If you did something like "Sell PDF Files| Number one market for PDF Files" then that might work, but do not try to just stuff keywords, search engines notice it and most importantly USERS might notice it.

True, do not repeat in title tags unnecessarily. You can stuff it in body and believe me Google will not penalize for it. I have seen one website consistently ranking in top 3 search results for 100s of keywords. There is no content on the page only hundreds of keywords repeating. |

You should try to target no more than two or three related key phrases per page of your site title tag.

Putting repeated keywords in title is not good idea, as search engine dont like high destiny of keywords in any where in the web page. For ranking well on search engine you need to keep the density low as possible. Repeat keywords in title will result in high keyword density....

I agree not to repeat keywords incessantly. Try to add other keywords that are closely associated to your main theme so you don't waste the precious space in your title tag. And also make it human readable and not just a bunch of keywords. So for your example, i would put something like Selling PDF Files Online - Big Selection of PDFs On Sale |

Yeah once is enough. Plurals and variations are called stems, or stemming. Google is aware of this and does it automagically when you search. Try Googling bicyc*

Remember that PDF is an abbreviation of "Portable Document Format", so you could use that full text along with the abbreviation in your page Title. Google knows they both have the same meaning. Example: PDF Files | Portable Document Format Files Do a search for the keyword pdf & Google will also bold the keywords Portable Document Format. Google knows both have the exact same meaning. |

Be a little careful with this. If your keyword was "Funny clowns", I would usually do something like: Funny Clowns - How To Identify Funny Clowns. That way you are getting it in twice, but it looks a little more natural. |
