That's a pretty broad question. What I would do is take the average keyword density of the top 10 results for the keyword you're trying to rank for and use that as a general guideline. There is no "perfect" number.

They say 10 keywords for every 500 words. You want to shoot for 2% density. |

I go for a 1.5% to 2% keyword density per article and get pretty good results with it. I've been getting even better results with the same keyword density per article since I've started experimenting using 1,000 word articles rather than 500 word ones. Google seems to like the more content-rich articles better than the shorter ones. I'm getting ranked more quickly and often with no back links with 1,000 word articles with a 1.5% to 2% keyword density.

I usually aim for between 2-3%, ideally closer to 3%. A lot of folks say keyword density is not that big a factor anymore, but that's what I do.

many search engines have their own criteria to calculate keyword density.uahoo and Msn are OK with 5%.but Google is more strict in all and in case of google it should be 1-2%. For example of you have an article on 500 words then you can repeat same keyword 5 times in it to make it 1% Thanks |
