Will social bookmarking lower my rankings

Hi,

If I start using a social bookmarking service like Onlywire to bookmark my posts to 30+ bookmarking sites on a consistent basis, will this penalize me in Google?

Does a lot of social bookmarking look unnatural in Google's eyes? Will it potentially lower my rankings?

that matter are nofollow in the first place.

It won't hurt but you sure need to step into 2012.

Google will not penalize you in doing social bookmarking or using bookmarking services. But just like paul has said, you must step into 2012. Meaning, use other techniques or discover new ones to get your site ranked better.

social bookmarking will not hurt you. it will lower your ranking for sure (10 to 1)

Try to select only top social bookmarking sites like digg, delicious, reddit and more

Since you will do it on a consistent basis, I don't think there will be any chance your website would get penalized. On the contrary, social bookmarking can bring you more backlinks and traffic.
