No it's not the only way, but it's usually the type of traffic that converts best (clicks) as it's people looking for something.

Returning visitors, social media visits, traffic from newsletters, etc click on ads much less when they get to your page.

Hmmmm. I think SEO is the opposite way to get visitors
for an adsense site.

SEO is a crapshoot. Like a box of chocolates. You never
know what you're going to get. Adsense needs targeted
visitors, not casual surfers.

I like being active in forums in the niche, squidoo, my
own blogs, facebook, twitter, not necessarily in that
order.

SEO is the least of my concerns for adsense sites. Why?
Because I tweak my adsense sites for targeted ads, not
SERPs. Different ballgame.

Now it's true, that in getting my own traffic, linkbait is
huge. Authority grows, google love happens. It's
actually the way google says to do it, believe it or not.

I'd say working on targeted traffic and ads will have "SEO"
as a by-product.

one good trick is to balance your ads against your content. If you're producing great content and promoting it the right way... then your pageviews will soar.

of driving large traffic to your website but if you do not want to use SEO then you can try out SMO.

I definitely agree with social media BUT, I don't think people are going to want to pay for the traffic that is in turn paying them. When you own an Adsense site, you get paid from people that pay for PPC Traffic. You would be losing money or earning pennies if you paid for traffic for an Adsense site.

You can bring a good traffic through social media as well. But the only thing is that you need an active participation in social media sites on regular basis

No. SEO is not the only way to promote the site but still i believe that it plays the major role in increasing the rankings and traffic. If i say in a broader way SEO is the part of SEM and SEM is the all and all to cater the traffic and to promote the site.

You should use SEO, SMO, SEM like ways. As SEO is part of SEM and SMO is part of SEO.
And if you want instant traffic then PPC can be best for your site but it is inorganic way to get results. So the best ways are SEO and social media. And now a time social media more using blog, articles, and video methods after the panda update.

indeed SEO is important for this but apart from this you canuse banner advertising to bring traffic to your site. If you have enough fund you can even try PPC and social networking site, you can run online contast to bring more traffic to your site.

I don't think SEO is the only way for you to make a living of it. There are tons of goldmine methods out there that are yet to be found, just keep digging till you find one.

seo is for traffic and it is fact more the traffic is more you get from adsense so traffic is the main thing. seo brings a lot of traffic and social media too but in fact seo is more important than linking here and there
