Default Google Adwords Help!

Hi guys, im a newbie with Google Adwords and cannot get my ad live.

I set up my ad campaign yesterday and here are my problems:

- currently have a 3/10 quality score

- my keyword relevance is poor

- Displaying ads right now: No.
"Your keyword isn't triggering ads to appear on Google right now due to a low Ad Rank. This is primarily due to a low Quality Score, which means that you should focus on improving the relevance of your keyword, ad, and landing page"

So, the above are my problems. I would like to bid on the term "weight loss" - but obviously do not want to be on page 1. My site is - YourGymGuru (cannot post extension: dot com). And I mention Weight Loss in the title of the ad itself. The first line of the ad. And in the URL - YourGymGuru (dot com) /WeightLoss

All help would be much appreciated

Try to improve your quality score by putting together a more targeted list of relevant keywords and making sure there's a tight match between the keyword and the ad text and the ad text and the landing page. its important the message in the ad is reinforced on the landing page when the prospects clicks through.

Here are a few more tips to win with adwords:

a) Successful PPC advertising is about knowing your value per visitor,
your break even number in order to obtain maximum net profit. So many
google advertisers get this wrong. Many think its about the lowest cost
per click but the only thing that matters is the net profit per campaign.
Maybe start with the 10 best targeted keywords, with the highest search
volume. Use analytics to track campaigns down to the individual keywords and save between 40%-80% costs.

b)Create your first landing page with the number 1 keyword optimised.
The number1 keyword is the most targeted and has the highest search
volume for your market.

c)Setup your first adwords campaign: Makesure you use the optimised
number 1 keyword for your business. Ensure the campaign has exact
match, search network only and all regions, all times.

d)Overpay for the traffic at first: 99% of advertisers don't know this
tactic. Tactic 1 is lose money on purpose and not make a profit. The
objective is to track if anything converts at any price. If it
does carry out our most wanted response, optimize the campaign for
maximum profits. If not much traffic doesn't convert we can stop buying
traffic for that particular keyword.

e)Lower Costs: Need to improve the landing page first; If we can prove that traffic we drive to a landing page will convert, hence the higher
the clickthrough rate the lower the cost per click. This will increase our profits. If the landing page score is low, tweak the page to increase the quality score which will reduce your costs even further.

f)Alternative way to reduce costs even further other than increasing the
quality score is split testing. Play beat my control ad and run 2 ads to
determine between 30 to 100 clicks which is the control ad and which ad needs to be rewritten. This increases the clickthrough rate and reduces the CPC.

g)Monitor your conversion data. For example where the best and worst converting traffic is coming from. Also check out adscheduling, if certain days or times convert better than alternative days and times.

h)Another method of maximising profits by reducing clicks costs is implementingnegative keyword matchings. Great way of reducing unwanted clicks and increasing
your clickthrough rate.

Hope this helps,

Hey there,

You need to make sure that the keyword(s) in question are found in your ad heading, ad description lines, and also in your landing page content. Quality score is of huge importance, especially in highly competitive verticals such as weight loss.

Please take a look at the 'Quality Score' section of my squidoo lens (found in my signature below) for some more extensive info.

Cheers!

The problem is this. Only touched upon in the reply
just above mine. It's not that weight loss is a high
priced word, but also google will probably not show
any weight loss ads from just anyone off the street.

Weight loss is one of those words that requires you
to know someone. It's ripe for fraud and just plain
lies.

My advice is to think outside the gym. Or maybe in
the gym. Or kitchen. Forget weight loss. Do an end around for
something close, but related to weight loss. Like
eating healthy or something.

Weight loss is just a word to give up on. That's
the sad truth. It will save you from eventually getting
banned, and/or pulling your hair out.

Anyone who claims to "know" adwords would be the first
to tell you this.

Acceptable:
Weight loss products that claim weight loss over a period of time through a combination of healthy dieting and exercise.

Not acceptable:
Weight-loss products that claim a significant amount of weight loss in a very short time frame or without dieting.
Diet products that specify a specific weight loss goal within a certain time frame.

Not saying your site is in the "Not acceptable" category, but google errs on the
side of caution.

If you are kosher, and have a fat wallet, you might be able to get shown.
Doubtful with a QS of 3. And there's always the display network. But
going for "weight loss" IMHO is a lose-lose proposition.
