I do a lot of adwords and handle a lot for clients, but this one has me stumped. I have a keyword that has always been pretty solid for me. This is a newer account and I set this up with its own unique ad group, perfect optimization.. my CTR is 3-4% and my quality score has dropped down to 2. Any clue on why this is happening? Doesn't make much sense to me! I tried changing to exact match, phrase match, no difference whatsoever. |

May be the Global searches for that keywords have changed so they are not that mush qualitative.

I'd check the keyword relevancy score. My guess is Adwords judges the keyword irrelevant. That'll cost you a few QS points. You seem to be saying that a 3% CTR should give you a better QS. Doesn't work that way. You are thinking in absolute terms. QS is a relative measure of how well you are doing compared to other advertisers. A QS of 5, no matter your CTR, only means that your CTR is average, taking into account your position. |
