Adsense and other Ads

I'm not happy with the adsense ads on one of my sites. They just aren't targeted enough. I'm wondering if my banner ads from Commission Junction for related products (which are on the opposite side of the page from the adsense) are affecting the kinds of ads I'm getting.

I thought the text on the page was the only thing Adsense went by when placing ads on your page.

Any comments from anyone?
