Default Content vs sidebar links

What is the difference if you get a link from high PR sidebar vs content. Does it effect link quality?

Google does not give that much weight to blogroll backlinks, because they are/were easily used to game the search algorithm. In context backlinks are much more difficult to game and so Google gives more weight to these type of backlinks.

Contextual links are much more powerful than blog-roll links placed in sidebar. My estimate is they carry twice as much value as blog-roll links do.

Don't forget about keyword prominence; If you are creating contextual links to your site, try to place them as close to the beginning of the page they are placed on as possible. This makes them more powerful than if they were placed at the bottom.

Yes, contextual links are more important. Better if these links are rounded by relevant content and are placed at page beggining.
