Hi, how is everyone doing? I have been working in the SEO and Internet Marketing industry for a little over five years now and have recently launched my SEO Company but I'm still have a little bit of trouble settling on a pricing structure. I noticed that there are lots of SEO Companies out there with website which offer pre-defined SEO Packages which offer SEO for x number of keywords for x number of pages and a variety of different services starting anywhere from $350/mo ranging right upwards of $1600/month. Although this seems like a pretty straightforward pricing structure to imitate, I thought that it might not be the best model to use because every site is different and they each have their own requirements. With that being said, should I be offering my services on an hourly rate? If so, is $60/hour a fair rate to be charging? ...and with that being said, should I have a minimum amount of hours per month that a customer should have to pay for... because some customers might just say "Okay... I want to spend $240/mo for four hours." Personally I think that a decent SEO Campaign should consist of atleast an hour a day for link building, keyword research, etc, which would bring the monthly bill into the ballpark of $1200/month for a five-day-a-week campaign... is this an unreasonable amount to expect clients to pay for SEO? Any suggestions for a pricing structure or strategy would be a HUGE help.. please keep in mind that I would like to provide the most cost effective solution for my clients without ripping them off, but without undercutting myself. Thanks in advance |

I've read over that site, and that is where I came up with the idea for an hourly rate.. but what is a fair amount of money to expect a client to pay? For example, would $1200/month be a typical value for SEO services, or should it be worked out to be lower, around the $500 range? ...and should you make the client pay the amount up front for the perceived amount of hours that will be worked in the upcoming month, just as if you were selling a packaged deal? |

Are you asking what you should charge just for SEO or are you asking how much you should charge for internet marketing in a whole? What is the $500 to $1200 for? Some local IM? A couple keywords? A full blown IM Plan? What. The packages that I've seen are coming from over seas. They consist of a little onsite SEO, a ton of directory submission!!! Article marketing on private networks that get booted, maybe a little bit of video, social and PR for that price range. We take them out every time They just don't compete plus they don't convert.Customers do not have the slightest clue on how much work it actually takes to do well online. They think if they are at the top of google they will make a ton of money. This is nothing close to being true and they are missing out on so much more traffic. We need some more detail on what you are offering. We all need to charge more for our services BUT give them their moneys worth and deliver results. Onsite SEO keyword research Conversions local maps citations Social Media Blogging PR directories Article Marketing Video Marketing Pod casts Social bookmarking comment posting forums research info infographics word of mouth qa sites The list goes on and on. I wouldn't touch this for under a couple K a month but I would try for at least 5 always. I have clients that spend $10K a month on PPC alone. Don't shoot your self in the foot!! Leave the cheap for the cheap and get paid with a superior product. |

I'm still learning like we all are! I let my self get under paid for years. It's frustrating doing a ton of work that the client doesn't care about till you don't do your job. So do it well but make them pay for it. Trust me you and the client will be happy for years. I've seen guys loose their families over it especially in this economy. They are trying to work with the clients budget. I understand that but when the client has 10 laborers working for them at 3 or 4 k a month the least the client can spend on IM is $2k but limit that $2K as a $2k budget. Don't do 5k or 10K worth of work. They aren't going to get Viagra #1 as a keyword lol. Can I get a backlink SEO Company LGS 90 Day Trial That Rocks!!!! thanks WF |
