Hi, my website is on 4th page on google for a keyword, the 13th page for another keyword and 16th page for the third keyword i optimised my website for. I have only 30 backlinks till now. I have two questions : 1 - Does it mean that to be ranked on these pages already with only few backlinks means my website is well optimized for google ? 2 - How many backlinks do i need more to push my website to be on the first page of google ? Thank you |

Nobody knows. It's like the old age question "how high is up?", "how long is a piece of string?" Keep building up backlinks. Mix up the anchor text you use to the page. Avoid using the same anchor text, because that can look suspicious. Target high PR backlinks as well. Have you tried guest posting? |

number one on Google. It is also based on how many backlinks does your competitor have? And also note that having quality or SEO-friendly content or simply On-page SEO is another factor that you need to be concern about because it affects your ranking a lot.

The number of backlinks that it takes depends. Having decent diversity helps. For example I had a micro niche site that got a 10k scrapebox blast. This helped but didnt do much. Then I added 500 social bookmarks and 200 edu links and I was up at page 1. It might be differenct for you though since micro niche sites dont have high competition.

Remember quality over quantity. Try to shoot for high PR links, however, lower PR links that relate to your niche are helpful as well. As stated above, remember to change up the anchor text and don't spam backlinks.

A lot of it has to do with your competition. Low competition keywords might rank more highly more quickly with fewer back links than higher competition keywords. You've also got to have quality back links. Don't link to any place that is shady, spammy, or questionable in any way. And make sure your content is written for readers rather than the search engines and relevant to your site. These things should help you get ranked more quickly. Also remember that Google changes constantly, so what works today might be irrelevant tomorrow. Keep reading on SEO and keep up with the changes to keep your site on top of things.

Ok let me be the one to break the backlinks only rule. If you have crappy content, a lousy looking page and teh code is totaly messed up...a gazzilion self made relevant backlinks will not help you reach the top. I have climbed to the first page with posts that had no backlinks and the lowest amount of backlinks in the top 10 at the time was around 180 all the way up to 32 000. I had 0 and was ranking #4-#6 on the first page at the time (around 5000 exact global search). Content is key..backlinks just boost it up. Think of it as 1000 horses pulling a ship on dry land...it just doesnt go ![]() My 2 cents... Sincerely, Buyseech |

You can add a blog to the website and link them there. Then backlink all of it. That means links to the homepage, blog main page, and articles. Vary your anchor text. Keep building links and checking Webmaster Tools until you see the 'Search Queries' volume go up. Figure out which page is ranking. Then build more varied anchor texts to that page. That's a quick way to get started with some SEO on any website.
