What's up with Google's personal results being included?

I have noticed lately that Google has included in its results page social results. What do you think the effects of this will be on search engine optimization? Is there a way to rank higher than these social results?

There have been around 6-8 threads on this in the last couple of days. I turned it off. Most people are not very interested in Google Plus results in their searches, although the FTC has taken an interest.

Same here. I started to get tired of seeing recommendations from everyone I know.

The results seemed...well...diluted in some way.

I did not know about the other threads.

I do not have much interest in it either as of right now. However, I am concerned. The amount of space I have seen the social results take on the 1st page of results is considerable from an seo perpective (if someone does not turn it off). Thanks a lot for responding.

The great God Google is playing again. lol
We will have to see what happens, if they see there numbers go down, then it won't last long that for sure. Have to wait and see.

Move over Twitter and hello google plus search. I have noticed the results mixed in but I have yet to find any of them helpful. just another way to combine social with the search results!

I haven't noticed any change with my searches. I think it's going to effect mostly News websites and things like that. Not really the type of stuff most of us here have....either way, I don't see it lasting.

App Developers, Yes it seems that Google Plus is now what is being mixed with the results.

I recall that at some point Google had removed from the side bar the link to the social search results(where twitter was included).

It appears that they are putting Google plus more in front of people. There is not a need to go to the sidebar and click a link when you are logged in.
