Default Interpret SEO Competition Market Samurai

Hey guys,

I feel like, I'm kinda overwhelmed by those whole shortcuts like RDP, BLP etc in Market Samurai SEO Competition Analysis. But im struggling trough =)
Is there any advice you can give? How important is Domain Age, if the rest is almost all green? As far as I am concerned, RDP Backlinks and Keyword in URL/Title etc. are the most important facts, am I right?

Cheers!

Domain age, somewhat important but not as important as people think,

backlinks to domain? to me I igore that and unclick it

I leave clicked Domain Age, PR, (though both are not that important IMO) i Want to see it

Backlinks to Page? extremely important
as well as all the onpage SEO factors, Kw in title, header, url, etc etc

DMOZ or yahoo indexing? not important

Mostly I look for backlinks to page being VERY low, as in less than 100

Just so you are not wasting a lot of time, Market Samurai tells you almost nothing about the competition, especially when it comes to backlinks. Just knowing how many backlinks a site has does not really tell you how easy it will be to outrank.

Even finding the PR and anchor text of the baclinks does not give you the whole story. MS does not tell you how many other outgoing backlinks are on the page that the link is coming from, which is a huge factor in determining how powerful of a link it is.

MS also doesn't give you something that is very basic: Does the link still exist? Just because a link is currently indexed by a backlink checking source or search engine does not mean the link still exists. It just means the page has not been visited by search engine spiders lately.

This becomes very important when you are analyzing a IM niche where your competitors are using blog networks like BMR for backlinks. MS might tell you that the page has 50 PR 4+ backlinks. In actuality, those links may have already rolled off homepages and are now PR 0 backlinks. So what might look like stiffer competition is actually very easy to beat.

If you want to use something like MS to just glance at the competition, I can see that. When you really want to start analyzing what they are doing though, I would recommend SEO SpyGlass, OpenSite Explorer, and Ahrefs.
