Does wikipedia links help ?

Hello guys today i noticed w9ikipedia is linking to one of my website which i have totally forgotten , It was my first project and it was a newbie website about an celebrity this website recieves good number of traffic but when it comes to conversions it doesn`t convert at all , i know wikipedia links are no-follow but just wanted to ask does links from wikipedia really help ?

Yes it really does help. This is considered as a high authority Web 2.0 source, even if they are no-follow. You can still rank well in the SE's with Wikipedia, as long the keyword you have chosen has lots of searches with low competition.

Getting Links from Wikipedia is great. First of all you will get the benefit of fast crawling from Search Engines. Wikipedia always offers no-follow links to other web sites Hence it must not provide advantage of getting PR from Google.

Post HQ unique content on these sites, otherwise they will get removed in 1-2 months.

They definitely help, giving your site more authority.

Of course they help. Wikipedia is very high in google's rankings and if you achieve to get backlinks it will give you a boost.
Also don't forget DMOZ and other paid directories which can help your rankings too!

Does it help !! Wiki is a PR9 website, any link back from it is great for serps ranking as well as bringing direct traffic. People would - and do- pay good money for these type of backlinks

Links from Wikipedia really help your site in SERPs! Of course!!

Maybe Wikipedia links are not so important to rank positions for a particular keyword, but yes to get more authority (one of the important factors in the Google algorithm).
