Late last year I started a blog with no specific goal other than to practice writing about a topic I am passionate about. But now the more time I spend on this forum the more I learn about SEO the more I want to try and develop the site. I have published over 220 posts full of unique content and self-hosted pictures and I usually publish two to three new posts a day. It may be that I have just not paid any attention to SEO early on due to a lack of knowledge. There is a handful of posts on there which are press releases that have been syndicated out from PR companies to bloggers like myself so the content will appear on a number of other websites. It is a Wordpress self-hosted blog and I have the All in One SEO plugin on the blog. The blog did go from zero to 15,000 visitors in the first month but that was only by posting on a few small forums and by promoting each post on my Facebook and Twitter accounts which were also new so didn't have any fans or followers. According to Google analytics I am getting some organic searches but not for terms I have deliberately targeted. I did recently perform a permanent redirect so that the www version was displayed rather than the non www version. I have told Google to prefer the www version. I think I could probably make better use of H1, H2 headings but other than that I am not sure what I can do. If anyone can shed some light on the issue I would be hugely grateful. The website is worldrallyreview.com. |

I have checked your web site and It seems there are lot of Issues causing your web site PR 0. 1) Slow Speed loading and hence Move to some good hosting 2) No good Title tags which relates to your keywords 3) Add keywords in between your articles 4) Make proper tags in your articles 5) Add Alt tags to images in Articles 6) Make inter linking between the Articles 7) Get quality back links from high PR sites Try all the possibilities once hope you can achieve a good ranking soon |

First You need to analysis your blog/website competition and then select the Niche keywords for your blog.

Could the slow load issue be caused by the theme and the plugins or is it more likely to be a hosting issue? Alt tags on images are on my 'must do' list! I usually manage to link to at least one other article on my site when I post a new news item. I know which keywords I am targeting and even though the top two websites on Google are very well established the site at number two is just reposting press releases word for word but it has done this for years, it adds no value, so I am hoping Google will slap it at some point in the near future! As an aside, shortly after I posted this thread in here my website was hacked and my hosts inform me that it was used to distribute malware. Which is nice. I have a range of tools on my laptop for checking all of the details listed above but they all seem to give different answers. Does everyone else use a variety of tools to check keywords, rankings, backlinks etc? And then you put together your own picture from the different results?
