Any free backlinking tools?

I am wondering whether or not there are any free tools available out there for automating backlinking in some way? As a part-time newbie to IM, I don't really want to spend money on software I might never use much. There was be some decent free tools available out there?

Here are a few that can give a few free backlinks. May not be top quality backlinks, non the less, its free and it only takes a few clicks.

ImAutomator If I am not mistaken, you can get 25 free bookmarks every day.

Website-Submitter It submits your site to 2500+ different places. All these 2500+ websites are mainly "who is", "about us", "website statistic", etc. type of services.

RSS Submitter Submits to lots of RSS Directories/Aggregators.

As I said, these are just to get you going. In my opinion and from my own personal experience, you dont need tools to create backlinks. I mean backlinks that can count and are decent.

To get quality backlinks, you will have to do it manually and if you have the time, you can do it all yourself for free. These include, blog commenting, forum posting, article submission and all the other normal, tried and true methods of backlinks building.

Bulkping.com not only pings but does backlinks. You have to do the pinging and backlinking separately.

you are right to keep a tight hold on costs, you can have lots of SEO tools very cheaply

I would suggest Onlywire, which is a free service for you to generate backlinks from social bookmarks in just one setup, but you need to register an account for each social bookmark site they have. Content Notifier is also a good software for you to get lots of free backlinks in no time, and its free to download.

There are tools you can use to automate a part of the backlinking work (the submission of your links and content most oftenly), but there is no tool that would create good worthy backlinks in a push of a button. It simply doesn't work that way, you have to work hard in SEO (as in anything else to get decent results), if it were that easy, everybody would be using such a tool and making tons of cash... Which isn't really the case now.

Anyway, as for the automation tool(s) I use: I use blog networks such as Unique Article Wizard, Article Marketing Robot and Build My Rank for submission of my articles. I also use the Sick Submitter to submit links to web directories, article directories and for RSS feed creation and submission.

I always believe that anything which is automated is not likely to help you in longer run, Google spiders are now behaves almost like a human..

IMAutomator is no longer free, it has a lite version ( I think it's 2$/m)
SocialMonkee is a great free service for backllinks through social bookmarking.

I know this is a little different than what you're asking, but as a newbie I'd actually suggest you start participating in a handful of high traffic, niche-related forums that allow sigs.

It's one of the quickest ways to drive VERY targeted traffic and start earning a bit of money. Which you can then invest in a few tools that will make your life easier.

As has already been stated, if there were free tools to do this that would bring effective results, we'd all be using them. Most worthwhile links take some effort to get, but making that effort may give you the advantage over your competition.

To get your site indexed fast and good quality backlinks - Traffic Launch Pad
For commenting - Comment Kahuna
Also do some manual backlinking. If you don't want to spend a ton try Paul's backlinks ($8/month) or Angela's backlinks ($5/month)

I used Internet Marketing & SEO Forum - IMT Website Submitter it does make free links, not the most effective backlink type, but you can't argue with free
