Default SEO question

I was thinking about setting up a WordPress site installation and listing it multiple times under various local domain names in hopes that I will get multiple listings on the first page or 2 of Google. Is this a good strategy or will I get no Google love this way especially in light of the recent algorithm update? Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks!

it will be considered as one site with multiple domain names pointing to it that might help type in traffic and not SEO traffic IMO

Thanks

SEO doesn't work that way. Just because you have multiple domain names, it doesn't mean you get double listing. You can get double and even triple listing with one domain if you do your SEO right.

Instead of doing that, just get one domain and focus all of your effort on working on it and getting it to rank for your keywords.

By the way, dont even bother thinking about 2nd page of Google and that it may bring you traffic. To be honest being on 2nd page is almost the same as being on 10000nd page. How many times have you search for a keyword and went on 2nd page results to check things out?...

Well, the thing is that if those multiple site have unique content and are not connected to any ways other than the ownership (you being the owner of all of them). It is a great startegy to push them so that they all are rank wekk in google. I am sure it will help you a lot if most of them have good ranks on Google. All the traffic will be coming to your sites only. There is nothing wrong in this!
