Google has slapped advertisers whose landing pages had little content. What little changes do you think could be done to the pages to beat the google slap. I have heard about replacing bullet points with full text content. I think "www.putonyourgoggles.com" this would be helpful to beat the google slap and get great quality score. What do you guys think?"

Hi strauss, Google has nothing against bulleted lists. Ignore the person who gave you that advice. In most cases the Google Slap, or poor Quality Score, is given for low CTR due to irrelevant or overly broad keyword choices. The next most common thing I see is poorly written or irrelevant ad text and finally landing page issues round out the possible sources of a slap. You need to first determine the general cause of the slap, or poor QS. This is easy because AdWords has a feature hat tells you what has earned your poor QS. How do I know what my Quality Score is? - Google AdWords Help Center Once you have determined which issue is causing your poor Quality Score, return here an post the information and we'll help you further. |

my experience: if you're hit with $5 or $10 minimum bids, it's your site/content. smaller slaps, like 40 cents, etc - ad and keywords don't match enough. I've been slapped with $10 bids for low CTR before on generic 1 word KW's, but I don't usually bid on them anymore so I can't comment there. I've found that the info google gives on each keywords QS in your adgroup has been fairly accurate. warning - if you start off with a bad site and get slapped into $5 and $10 bids everywhere, good luck ever getting it 'good' in googles eyes. |

My site was slapped because of content or "user experience." It's an ebook sales letter with a video. It also links to a blog with many articles. If I change the site to be a ton of articles, I will not have nearly the conversions I have now, but Google would be happy. If I keep the traditional sales page, as all my competitors are doing successfully on AdWords (including one with a one paragraph squeeze page) then I'll continue to be slapped.
