Where as a black hat doorway page is such that is not visible to visitors but yet it can be crawled by the search engine. As that page is hidden for the people but visible for the search engine bot to crawl. | |

There's only one kind of doorway page. Doorway page is by definition a bad way to do things. Don't confuse custom index pages with doorway pages. A custom index/entry page would only be one and not a doorway page. A doorway page is normally done in multiples, providing multiple ways of a visitor to surf to your main site. Having a bunch of different doors, so to speak, all optimized for one keyword each. Dumb idea. Google wants your main index page to direct people to your articles, not a bunch of junky pages directing people to your main index page. Providing different looking content for a search engine than what a visitor sees is not a doorway page. That's just another dumb idea. Paul |
