For how long a fresh site to rank page #1?

Suppose we set up a website from scratch, the niche we are working on has very limitted global exact search count - 590, in another word, the competition is ultra low.
And suppose we are doing good on page seo, but do not backlinking. Then how long will it take to rank the niche on google page #1?

No one can say for sure how much time it will take to hit page #1, totally depends on your Google's whims and wishes (especially when you're not building any backlinks to it)

yeah you need to build some backlinks and get them indexed with google for it to have any chance of appearing on page 1. im currently on page 3 and have bookmarked a few warriors on here that i think will help me get to page 1

OK, then let's modify the condition a bit, suppose we do backlinks, with 1 article per week submit to EZ and other article directories.
Then what will happen?
I'm just wondering how fast will a fresh site rank from nowhere to page #1.
Could you guys share how long it took for your newly set up niche site rank well?

Winrar...I worked for a website which has very least visitor search and less competition..the fact is, I reached #2 position on google.com & co.uk in 2 weeks. The same site still ranks at #2 position for almost 6 months. I did some forum registration and forum postings and social bookmarking and never created new links after that but ranking next to wikipedia at #2.

it took me 1 month for the same niche/keyword stats

@winrar..yes in 2 weeks. It is incredible but it happened to me and if the keyword have less competition we can be at #1 easily.

It's not in our hand we cant say how much time will take on page rank 1. it depends on your backling try to get more a good quality backling.

You will need to build backlinks, unless the targeted keywords have zero competition (highly unlikely).
