Any suggestions please

I am working on a client's website - That is about gifts and he is selling amazon products. It is about 2 months old site.

So, I advised him to go for long tail keyword and we were working on it. I had seen it was ranking well on page 2,3 etc for about 4-5 target keywords. But on next minute, I do not see the ranks there. Ranks disappear from Google.

From my SEO Experience, I guess it is kind of dance and adding more quality links to it - DOFOLLOW & NOFOLLOW links to make the link building procedures natural.

Any input on this guys please?

Same thing happened to me and I am not pretty sure if it was Google Dance or I just simply avoid it.

1) My website was 1-2 months old.
2) I was playing around with the main keyword and long tail keywords.
3) On the 2nd month, my pages went from #20~ to #80-100~
4) I continued building quality links as usual
5) My pages got back to #20~ in a week or two
6) The next week the ranking increased and now my main keyword is ranked #2, the others are #11~

Sounds like google is dancing the pages, If you have been building backlinks to the site google seems to make them dance like buggery for a few days then the ranks change. Give it a few days and it should calm down.

If it keeps dancing and you dont see any changes after a while inspect the site to make sure all the links work etc.

Thanks for your input guys, Yes, I thought the same, I got many web 2.0 links which Google loves a lot and that brought the site to page # 2 for a keyword that has around 18,000 Exact searches... - I am keep on getting backlinks and keep on Pinging them

Not only on Google, even Bing to do the same. I found the site was ranked well on Bing, but now the ranks are missing. I think they are taking account of new backlinks and hopefully there will be massive improvement in ranks
