Are outbound authority backlinks with a dofollow tag any good for SEO? For example if im promoting a Breville oven, should i link out to Breville's main homepage in my review and will this help with ranking? |

Yes. I almost always include outbound links, if they are closely related and to a reputable source. I wouldn`t go overboard doh. 2 links per 600-1000 words will do. Include 2 more do follow contexual links to other sites on your blog that are related and all will be well. But, in my oppinion it is GOOD. I ve used it with success. Sincerely, Buyseech |

Yes, outbound authority links tend to lend... well... authority. I'm picky about which ones I use, though. Using your example of Breville ovens, for instance, I would NOT link to the manufacturer's main page. If you send your customers there they get access to an entire list of retailers and other sources where they can buy the oven. That totally defeats my purpose -- which is to sell them the oven myself so I can make the commission money. Or I want them to click on an Adsense link so that I can get paid for that. I would, instead, link to a source that isn't going to tempt my reader to spend money anywhere other than my own page. Again, using the Breville oven example, you could link to a university cooperative extension service article about microwaves and convection ovens, like http://web.aces.uiuc.edu/vista/pdf_pubs/BUYOVENS.PDF so that you are sharing valuable information. That information gives value to your customers without opening the door for them to spend money anywhere else. |

One more vote for it is good. Because this will help with the on-page SEO, which will help your ranking.
