Hi, Let's say I do proper ON-page SEO for the keyword "water bottle markets", will the keywords "water bottle market" & "water bottle" benefit from that ON-page SEO or do I need to do separate ON-page SEO for those two keywords? With proper ON-page SEO I am referring to outbound authority link for the targeted keyword, 1-3% kw density, images, videos, bullet points, 750-1000+ words. Looking forward to hear back from you guys. Regards |

You will profit from the long tail. No need to use them both, but it doesnt hurt either. At least not when we are talking about 2 keywords. If you would use "water bottle" "water bottles" "watter bottle market" "watter bottle markets" etc eaxh 3-5x ...that would be too much. Vary it up a bit, but keep your focus on the main kw. OK. But what if my main keyword is "water bottles"? That's the keyword I want to rank for the most, but there's still great search volume for "water bottles markets" and I want to try and rank for that too since it is a great keyword to rank. How would I design my ON page SEO for that post? [I don't want to do a separate post for these two keywords as I have already planned another post with the same "product" using other related keywords with high search volume] |

Go for the long tail. If the main kw is included, you will not damage it with an extra keyword. The only thing where I would consider not adding a word is, if I could purchase the exact kw domain. In your case waterbottles.com . Hope this helped. Sincerely, Buyseech |

If you want to rank a single page for multiple keywords use this strategy. I don't know if it's possible with other themes but with thesis it is... Make your post title something friendly to your readers... The water bottle market's are heating up this summer Then in thesis you can have a custom title tag for the search engines Make that Water Bottle Markets | Water Bottle Market | Water Bottle Then include a user friendly description in the meta description. Like Get your water bottle know before the water bottle market dries up. In the next 3 months the water bottle markets will be dry. Whatever. Write your article including the terms. Then link strategically internally and from your off page. |

Don't get caught up in the amount of monthly searches for a keyword. It is better to rank your website for descriptive, long-tailed, buyer keywords, than a shorter, non-descriptive keyword with more traffic. The reason why is because people who are ready to purchase a water bottle are more likely to type in "buy a cheap water bottle", than just "water bottle". The key is to determine which long-tailed buyer keywords have the least competition, and get your site ranked for those keywords. It is all part of discovering your niche. |
