Arrow Infolinks Not Paying for Clicks?

Has anyone ever heard of a PPC program that justifies not paying for clicks? I not talking about fraudulent clicks or anything - I'm just talking about clicks in general.

Reason I ask is because with InfoLinks I noticed I that I wasn't getting paid a red cent for clicks generated from my sites from time to time. At first I let it slide but then I noticed it re-occurring and decided to contact them about it.

They emailed me back after some days and here's an exact quote of what they said:

"I understand that you are concerned with your earnings. However, please keep in mind that some clicks are worth more, while some are worth less; the calculation for each click is not as straightforward. Our earnings report show the price per click to less than one cent. Its possible that those particular clicks didnt reach the one full cent."

What?? I don't understand this at all. I have never heard of a PPC program that has a system that justifies allowing advertisers to advertise for free on a publisher's site. Somebody is benefiting somewhere and it's sure not me! I don't want free advertisers anywhere near my site is what I told them (although they claim they can't do anything about it).

So do you agree with their system or does it sound fishy to you too?

Hey, this is Tammy from Infolinks. I can understand your concern, but I can assure you that Infolinks does pay for clicks. Although, in certain geographical areas and in certain markets, ads may only be worth $.009 or 1/10 of a cent. Since our reporting system does not display amounts less than 1 cent, it may take longer to see revenue under these terms.

We strive to make our publishers happy, and that means paid. Maybe you should toy around with different blog topics and try to generate traffic from different geos to increase the value of the ads on your site.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at - support(at)infolinks(dot)com.

Happy blogging,

Tammy

Hi multimastery,

This is Jonathan from Kontera. Changing the topics that you write about on your blog, just because your current in-text provider isn't working out seems a bit extreme. I'd suggest you give our in-content advertising a shot. Kontera is the in-content leader reaching over 170 million unique users per month through more than 15,000 web publishers. We work directly with such global brands as McDonald's, Ford, Kraft, Audi, Verizon, L'Oreal, Blackberry, and many more. If our advertisers are targeting the topics of your site and the regions of your readers, you should see much better results with us

I have been both a publisher and advertiser with Infolinks, and on the advertiser side I have never seen a choice to even bid below 1 cent, so this "$.009 or 1/10 of a cent" is news to me!

As a paying advertiser I surely wouldn't ever expect to be able to advertise on someone's site for free -- and I sure as heck don't appreciate advertisers being able to advertise on my sites for free. That's not what I signed up for - and it's not what your site promises.

Here it is just in case you forgot:
Quote:
Each time a reader then clicks on one of the ads, you get paid. It’s that simple.

Well evidently it's not that simple.

There's too many occurrences of clicks with no pay, and just like I said I let it slide at the beginning, but now I've decided to publicize this because it just doesn't add up, and I do mean that both figuratively and literally.

multimastery,

Advertiser pays $0.01
Publisher is paid $0.001
Ad Network is paid $0.009

OR maybe you aren't advertising in the geographical reasons and markets that give you that benefit.

OR maybe there is a CPM option as well as the CPC option for advertisers, allowing for a well tuned advertising campaign to get amazingly low CPC rates.

Correction: Actually it says can't bid less that .02, I checked with several states US, UK, CA, and also India and Philippines.

Either way you look at it it's cheap as heck and I'm not getting paid for clicks. Period.

Amazingly low and ZERO are two different things.

I am a infolinks publisher, sure sometimes I get a less then a penny but there intext ads, not big banners, so I dont expect much. I have used. I would suggest if your thinking about making big money then let people leave your site through your banners.

What I have done is dropped google adsense and created the adspace for others to advertise on my terms, and added infolinks as well, this way google cant drop my cpc down to .06 on me again. I am making constant money now and am very happy with infolinks and my personal publishers.

My only issue with infolinks is this - I would rather have relevant content in infolinks then have "yellowpages" or "scottstrade" advertise on every keyword on my site and not let the low bidder relevant advertiser in on the keyword, very annoying to the user and really makes them not even want to look at the highlighted link in the first place.

Solution (this is for infolinks) - Charge irrelevant ads (keywords) more so the big dogs dont ruin everything. Again I would rather have relevant ads on my site for the users then make an extra $7 a month.

Do you mind letting us know what niche your in? Thanks

I am currently a publisher with infolinks as I dun have Adsense. I am glad I joined them last May as this is currently one of the better earnings I have and the CTR is at about 12%. If your site is informative with good contents and with a reasonable amount of traffic, then infolinks is your best choice! And BTW they do pay...

Infolinks is very flexible in this sense. I started off with very very little traffic and build it up after a couple of months. One thing i really liked about them is their User Interface is the best I have seen and used. It's clean, clear and easy to navigate and setting up the links in your website is very easy. I am not promoting it cos I am an affiliate rather I hope my real user information can help newbies make an informed decision.

What's the logic behind displaying ads to those users for whom you won't pay? I mean if you do not pay for click throughs from India (say) and why display ads to them?

I sense something suspicious here.. This could justify why my earnings pretty low on IL.
