Auto-approved article directories are a good way to go for building instant links, but most of them are having low PR. Just use them wisely, don't use it for spamming your articles and getting useless backlinks there.

There are only few that work good these days. For instance, Ezine, Article Base, Sooper Articles, Go Articles and Ezine Mark etc. All others have either this or that issue. Those Article Directories that easily get indexed by Google giant are productive for quality backlinks and to tell you the truth that can be any article directory.

Instant article/directory websites are spammy sites in most of the cases. Even if they are not spammy, they would be running low on PR so what's the point in getting approval in those sites? Instead invest your time on quality of the content that could increase the chances of getting you approvals.
