Hi all, have been reading the forum for a while now and have picked up some great tips on SEO. I have a site relief-therapy. co .uk that I am optimising for a relative. main eyword is Hypnotherapy manchester which I am ranking halfway up/down page 2. So far my SEO plan has been writing articles and submitting to ezine, go articles, article base article alley etc... Done about 20 of these I have bookmarked the url on around 90 social sites including digg, delicious etc... as well as submitting to a few health directories. I have tried to blog comment but find it difficult to find good pr blog sites and the sites I do find are no follow. Too time consuming finding 1 blog to just get 1 backlink from it. Now I know the articles that i submit to the likes of ezine need to be unique or really well spun but after reading the forums blog posting on the likes of blog.co.uk, wordpress, blogger etc... seems to be a great way to improve rankings and backlinks. Does the content submitted to blog sites need to be as unique as the articles or can i write one blog and submit it to a number of blog sites? I am also starting to look at some fiverr gigs to increase the backlinks, there are a number of senuke and blog writing gigs that have good feedback, does anyone have any experience of these type of gigs? Is there anything else I can be doing that I have missed? Thanks. |

I suggest spinning the articles....really good to have unique content. Even 30-40% is better than nothing. The Best Spinner is really nice for that. Concerning Fiverr, you get what you pay for...the quality of the writing isn't all that great. |

So far you have been doing well and it is logical to assume the rank of your website is going to get even better in the future. SEO will take some time to generate the expected outcome and you need to remain patient. I would say that submitting articles to the big directories will not generate very strong links these days, especially when you pay attention to the recent Google updates and how thousands of websites with copied or duplicate contents have experienced drops. Writing new articles and then submitting them to directories can definitely help to generate temporary traffic shares for websites but the links gained from such activities might not seem to be that strong. You can also consider to add fresh contents to your website because even gathering lots of strong links without paying attention to what materials appear on pages of websites might lead to lack of success. Informative contents combined with links will be the winners. |

Thanks guys. So in regards to updating content regularly the only page this is realistic is the blog. The blog page is located at url/blog. Does updating the blog lets say once or twice a week strengthen the homepage as well as that is the target page or just the blog page?

Thanks Daniel, great advice. One question. When social bookmarking on the likes of Digg it seems I can only submit a url once as when I go to add it again it picks it up so am unable to add using a different anchor and description, have I not grasped social bookmarking or is there a way around this?

Is your site itself optimised? Do you have plenty of content, a blog/news page (that you update regularly..), H1's, search friendly URL's, meta tags, etc..? Your off site efforts sound good. With your articles, try and submit some as a guest blogger on blog sites in your business area - this will provide more highly related backlinks with more power. Sign up to some related forums (hynotherapy forums) and get involved in discussion (don't spam! thoughtful replies only), if they allow then put a link in your signature.
