When blog commenting and posting articles, which page of my blog should I have the backlinks pointing to? As far as I can tell, if I change a sig at one article site, it changes for all of the past posts as well. Right now I have one link to my homepage and one to a category page. Thoughts? |

It actually depends on you as admin of your blog because only you know what terms are to get targeted and which areas of your site are better optimized. Naturally, in most cases homepages are considered to be most important parts of websites and blogs, therefore the global sites admins choose them and then optimize them to target keywords. The recommended approach towards targeting several keywords is to dedicate several other pages to the terms and build links. If you are going to select several keywords, try choosing the long-tail terms and optimize some of your inner pages to target them. Write original contents which contain those selected words and then whenever possible, get some incoming links and point them at those inner sections. This way, gradually your homepage and inner pages will experience improvements in ranks and traffic shares. Most big sites which target lots of keywords use some of their internal pages too. |
