There's fast and there's good. Some traffic ends up there and they don't really want to be there. It also depends on what you are capable of.
Some fast and accurate forms of traffic come from PPC and social networking (if you do these right).

The fastest way to get traffic to your site is buying it, although most people do not recommend this at all.

Better ways to get traffic to your site relatively quickly is to make informed comments on Facebook pages related to your niche, so that you get a social media following and visitors to your website also increase. Besides that, other social media outlets can be tapped in the same way.

You should also focus on building quality links to your website, although this generally takes a longer time to transform into traffic.

Also keep in mind that you have innovative, useful and enjoyable content on your website so that one time visitors become frequent ones, and your clients begin respecting you. If you ever want to get into affiliate marketing then, you'll have considerable earning potentials.

If you're looking for the best instead of the fastest, I'd select article marketing.

PPC, but I would never start with this unless you understood clearly your "buyer" keywords and your landing page conversion.

Article syndication is good, so is haing your own affiliate program if it is your product that you are selling.

Write quality articles and post them to the biggest article directories like ezinearticles etc.. this is still a good way to bring targeted visitors. But remember, the quality of your article should reflect the quality of your website.

Don't buy quality articles to get visitors to a crappy website... just a tip from some who know's

IMO these are the best fastest ways to get traffic to your site. There are paid methods but if your goal is speed most of them will be a waste.

Create a FB fan page and drive traffic to it through FB ads. It's very quick and highly targeted. It's also very cheap if you learn how to correctly do it.

Most people will recommend FB page traffic. Yes, it is good source but much "stable" one is your own made SEO. SEO is pretty hard to master but when you do it, you can live from it (of course if you're good with it).

Without a doubt it has to be PPC. I mean if you wanted you could go from nothing to floods of traffic in a couple of minutes. It would of course cost you money, but that for me is the quickest method of traffic.

My free fastest traffic method has been Craigslist. Took awhile to master and had to find the right thing to promote, but if I'm in a pinch for cash, it works great.
For a pay method I use Solo Ads.

Money makes the world go round as they say.

Heck if you have a brand new site up and running and need traffic in about 3 mins, google adwords or some others major ppc engines is the go, or other pay per click sites.

Not only is it quick traffic, but its going to be highly targeted traffic, so you shouldn't mind paying for the speed of this.

Of course there are other ways, but PPC would have to be one of the fastest in my book.

Depending on what you're into. There is no BEST way for everything, but there are many good ways.
A good way is PPC.
In whatever way you get traffic, the best thing you can do to keep it is to build a list.

Some newbs get into this industry and think it's all about SEO. Many put all their eggs in one basket and only focuses on SEO.

If you do your youtube research correct then you can start getting traffic from a video in literally a matter of minutes.

For PPC I stay away from Facebook and stick to Google, Yahoo and Bing. I do not bid on the top spots. I'm fine with position 4-8 or even lower on PPC.

My theory with PPC is your list building improves when you get the clicks on page 2. The website visitor did not find what they needed in page 1. You can avoid the "false clicks". And I think you get quality traffic from people who hit page 2 and are still searching for that solution to whatever it is they are looking for,

I would do controlled experiments with all adverts and see which one works best.

Interesting points you make here. Did you mean to use the word "theory" or have you tested something like this? I have had some good results with very low bids for keywords but I have never actually thought it could be an advantage. It makes me want to experiment a little with this idea.

fastest traffic hands down is solo ads. its unbeatable. if u understand how to do it properly, u can generate 1000 leads in a single day. i don't know any other lead source that will allow you to do that.

ppc is great too, but that takes time to build up. if u wanna generate 1000 leads in a day with ppc, u'll need to be building your campaigns for months.

seo is the slowest. by far! but its also super targeted and qualified.

Great post! I'm enjoying seeing what everyone has to say.

The fastest method of traffic by far is Twitter. You can even watch the traffic coming in. Track the link you send out and you'll see how many hits it gets.

But for quality traffic (& also pretty fast) I'd choose ezine advertising over all else.
