When doing keyword research for amazon products is it worth looking for Global searches or we should only look at US searches especially when you are planning to promote product as a Amazon.com affiliate?

I only consider US searches. If it's the .com site then this will be where most of your traffic is coming from. Anything else I just consider as a bonus.

It will depend on what you are selling, and who you are selling to. That said, I agree with TB's comment above. I'm a UK resident, but I don't bother stressing over the UK Amazon. I do all my research on the US Amazon. |

Given that most amazon.com products only ship within the US, then it is much more useful to look at the local US search figures.

US only. If you go off primarily global then you run the risk of promoting a product that's not very popular here in the US but very popular in other countries.
