Do you think this a good keyword to buy?

Hey Warriors, I found a exact match keyword domain today. It is for sale at $1900.

Without saying exactly what it is, I will tell you it is a "How To..." domain, and there are products that sell in this exact niche.

Traffic statistics from Google for this exact keyword domain are...

Broad: 301,000 a month
Exact: 14,800 a month
Phrase: 22,200 a month

Top 3 Sites on Google for it are (in order)...

#1: PR Rank 4 Wiki Page
#2: PR Rank 3 Site (html page with one keyword in domain)
#3: PR Rank 3 Site (html page only)

With those numbers, do you think this might be a good buy?

I would say that is a pretty big gamble to invest that much money into the exact domain. If it was 500 or less, it may be more viable. It is difficult for me to say exactly without knowing the domain and looking at it in SE Cockpit or something similar. Have you thought about doing something close to the exact domain? i.e. HowToBecomeAnAstronautToday.com vs. HowToBecomeAnAstronaut.com Good luck!

what does google adwords tell you the key is worth, then look at how many organic clicks your getting and do do some maths,

The same as Ramo.. the keyword has great exact search volume, the competition seams to be not too strong, and it's "how to..." which must be profitable.. but then again $1900 is a bit too much ..

You can add one letter to a domain name and invest a portion of that money to of page SEO, and you'll beat those competitors without spending so much on a domain name..

Yeah good point, would save me a lot of dough and I could still compete.

I would not pay that much for a domain - you can buy whole sites for that much which can actually be investigated and proven to have traffic.
